Lexi: I was tired of the dating scene in Chicago, so I updated my Hinge to Michigan when I was back home for a weekend. Tyler was the first profile to pop up - he had a picture wake surfing on my lake and another picture wearing an Alabama hat next to Nick Dahl (family friend on the lake). I remembered hearing a while back, that Nick lived with a guy from Clarkston while at Alabama, so I figured this must be him! I proceeded to swipe up on the lake picture and comment "nothing like wake surfing on the Dahl's boat haha", knowing very well it would either be a hit or super creepy...

Tyler: When I got the message, I thought "how does this girl know who I am?", so I reached out to Nick to ask how he knew Lexi. Once he confirmed she was cool, I messaged back saying "now that's an impressive party trick knowing the location and the people lol". After messaging for a few weeks, we had our first date at The Fed in Clarkston. Within minutes of our first date ending, I deleted my Hinge and the rest is history!

We encourage guests to stay at the Royal Park Hotel, as it is conveniently located near our wedding weekend celebrations. For added flexibility, we have also reserved room blocks at a nearby Marriott and Holiday Inn.

Check-In is 4:00pm ET* and Check-Out is 11:00am ET. To book, please contact the hotel and give the group name: DeCoster/Baylis Wedding. Reservations must be made by May 25, 2027. There will be a cost of $20/day for self-parking or $30/day for valet at the hotel. *Please note, hotel check-in begins at the same time as the ceremony. We recommend requesting early check-in or coordinating with the hotel to store your luggage.
